Valentine's Day has always been one of those holidays that makes me want to vomit, cry, and punch something at the same time.  Last year I got to spend it with someone I thought I loved and we had a good time, but there were complications.  In high school one of my boyfriends sent me roses while he was out of town, which was a nice gesture, but it wasn't what everyone raves over.  So I can easily say I just don't get it, and I say that as a single female young adult.  So this year, I'm going to try and make the best of it.

My parents have been married for 36 years, have 4 kids, and still kiss each other hello and goodbye.  They have their moments and I'm sure the relationship isn't as hot as it once was, still it's admirable.  This is the sort of thing I want for myself someday.  Until that day, V-day need not be a day of misery and bitterness.  Instead of celebrating broken relationships and singlehood, I'm going to try and celebrate the good things in my life this year, the people I love as family and friends.

Also, I'm taking part in the Blogger Secret Admirer Project.  Dristanel, our lovely host, is a dear friend of mine and sometimes my hero.  Yet she continually rejects my characters for other people in the guild who are not as awesome as me.  Still, I will play her game.  I will read a stranger's blog and tell them what I think is awesome about it.  And in the same light, someone will stalk me.  I like being stalked occasionally.  Makes me feel special.

Also, I'm going to do something nice for the people I love and respect this weekend.  I have yet to figure out what this is yet, but I'll keep you posted.  Happy Obligatory Love, Roses, and Hearts Weekend.
